CALGARY, February 22, 2017 – Over the last year Alberta union leaders have been quietly advocating for significant changes to Alberta’s labour laws. The government has since confirmed that they will be introducing changes this spring. It is widely believed the government is considering eliminating the requirement to let workers decide on union certification by casting their ballot in secret. If this comes to pass it will be a major step backwards for the rights of Alberta workers.

You are invited to join the Alberta Growth Initiative (AGI) as they launch their new campaign, Keep Alberta Working during a press conference on Thursday, February 23 at 10:00 a.m.

For a generation, Alberta has been the province Canadians turn to when seeking opportunity. Alberta’s stable and non-confrontational labour environment has played a significant role in attracting investment and new businesses, and providing tens of thousands of Canadians with unparalleled career opportunities.

Keep Alberta Working is a non-governmental organization that aims to inform Albertans about the potential change in labour laws, and how they can protect themselves and their businesses.
